I love the idea of "thinking at the right speed". I find as a parent I am often asked to think about too much, too fast and to do it on the fly. I am actively working to first get myself to slow down and share that process with others.

I teach a lot of parenting and family classes and one of my goals is to get mothers to see that "multi-tasking" is a myth. Uni-tasking is where we should be in order stay connected to the people and the tasks at hand.

I blogged about it on the Slow Planet blog in the parenting blog section of things.

Hi guys,

What a wonderful concept here. I put together a 'slow' event, called InterNational Downshifting Week, which encourages participants to 'slow down and green up' - it resonates with your philosophy.

Saturday the 19th marks the first day of the event and I have an interview on Radio New Zealand to talk about it! I believe it's on at around 7.30 your time if you want to tune in!

The chink of hope that pulls us all together as we strive for a better work/life balance and to live more sustainably, should unite us all, regardless of wherever we live.

I'm honoured to be a part of this noisy and essential network!

Kind regards to all,
Tracey Smith
Founder of InterNational Downshifting Week
